Need to create an Open Data Plan? here are the top-level steps to make sure your project has open data to be submitted to the USAID Development Data Library (DDL) in compliance with ADS 579 (PDF).
Open Data is now required. But how do I do it?
Here are 9 things you can do to make your data more open
I admit to being a bit jargony at times. It is a bad habit of mine and it stems from three sources - government contracting, USAID/foreign assistance, and IT.
And the jargon between the three often don't overlap. One example of this is the difference between data and platform, which I find most people outside of IT don't have a good grasp of. The difference is key when discussing Open Data because the entire point of open data is to liberate data from the platform.
Open data? What is that? And why is that now in all of my contracts?
Question: Out of the seeming hundreds of project management tools out there - Basecamp, Timework, Asana, etc, which one is the BEST?
The answer may surprise you.
Last week, we discussed under-estimating costs and resources when converting face-to-face training to an online environment. We conclude this series with recommendations regarding blended learning and measuring impact.
Last week we discussed the potential pitfalls of on-line learning design when one does not carefully consider the business needs, the learners’ needs and how to match those needs with an appropriate technology solution. This week we discuss underestimating the cost, time and resources.
In this blog series we will share potential pitfalls you want to avoid when designing and delivering learning online.
Now that we have outlined the major intangible assets in ICT projects, here are some tips on how to protect them, beyond the specifics in each section.
1. Perform a technology evaluation during the final year of the project
2. Create metrics to track these assets
3. Create protection plans, including budget and staff resources for the top priorities.
